Alpacas of the Month (in China)

August 2008

Some photos of our last visit to Nileke, Xinjiang Province, China to inspect past Orrapoora alpaca projects and to negotiate future exports to the same area.

The alpacas are for the Poverty Alleviation and Development Department of the Xinjiang Province Government and they will over time be distributed to the poorer farmers in the area.

Inspection of past alpaca exports (some of these animals are in photo below) show that the alpacas are being very well looked after and are in excellent condition. Shearing was done locally.
